Come era logico aspettarsi, Mozilla annuncia ufficialmente l’abbandono allo sviluppo di Firefox OS, non ci saranno quindi d’ora in avanti smartphone equipaggiati con questo sistema operativo open source, Se è lecito chiedersi come mai si sia giunti a questa decisione, è ancor più lecito e soprattutto logico, chiedersi come mai si sia deciso di intraprendere lo sviluppo di un OS per smartphone in un mercato già ampiamente avviato e saturo di scelte, iOS, Android e Windows Mobile… Il progetto privo di verve si è arenato sin troppo presto, l’azineda prende coscienza quindi del fallimento dell’iniziativa e abbandona la nave prima che sia tardi. Del resto era prevedibile andasse a finire così, dispositivi di fascia bassa, solo web app, davvero poco poco da offrire ai pochi utenti che decisi a dare fiducia a Moazilla hanno investito in questi dispositivi. Se la credibilità di Mozilla, anche con questa corsa ai ripari sia salva, ho parecchi dubbi, ma queste sono disquisizioni personali. Altro cadavere nell’armadio, per fortuna che almeno per quelli c’è Ikea!
